The Male’ Fitness Academy offer a foundation course in exercise and sports science. Our program is nationally accredited and include electives in Aquatics, Exercise To Music (ETM) and Outdoor Exercise.

The Male’ Fitness Academy is a training provider for the Ministry of Higher Education. We deliver the National Certificate III, Fitness Instructor course. The duration of this course is 15 weeks. An external assessment is conducted by the MNSDA. The course is accredited by the MQA and considered an ordinary level pass.

COVID-19 pandemic appear to be under control with 90% of the population above the age of 18 is expected to be fully vaccinated by the end of this August. This is good news for gym goers.

FREE TRAINING OPPORTUNITY FOR FITNESS INSTRUCTORS

In the interest of member safety, fitness clubs wish for all their members to be vaccinated.

GYMS ARE OPEN. After 2 months of movement restriction, I would imagine most of us would have gained weight.

The HPA have announced a process for gym opening. We will be reopening on Sat 26 Jun at 5.30 am. Our opening hours are fixed from 5.30 am till 5.30 pm daily.

Our advise for members is to go for vaccination first. Remember, going to the gym is probably the first habit you may loose under lockdown pressures! Please get yourself back to the gym and register your new body weight as soon as gyms reopen.

The course fees are subsidized and an additional monthly allowance is given for the duration of the course.

Gyms are closed till 23 June. Covid-19 public emergency is extended up to Sat 3 July 2021.

The earliest possible Gym opening date is Wed 26 May.

This course opens job opportunities as Fitness Instructors, Sports Coaches, PE Teachers, Sports Supervisors, Sports Development Officers, Lifeguards, and Water Sports Instructors.

We imagined a temporary gym closure was a reasonable response. That was three weeks ago, the “longest” three weeks we probably remember.

The real impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic hit home when news broke out that an Italian tourist who was suspected for the virus stayed in a Male’ City hotel on 1st and 2nd March 2020.
