WHAT ARE THE OPPORTUNITIES?
There are many opportunities in the public and the tourism sectors. Certification is however an additional requirement of employers today.
Exercise Science foundation of this course provides the flexibility for people interested in branching into different field within this discipline. Our internship program delivers hands-on experience and confidence by logging in a minimum of 130 hours of internship on our gym floor.
Tourism based, water sports, recreation and wellness related jobs are in demand. SFRW recognizes the training needs for exercise science based certification for these jobs outlined in the TOR of this project. We hope to reach out to HR departments of the tourism industry, who could facilitate their staff certification through this program.
Physical Education is school based. Graduate courses in teaching generally do not give much emphasis to the PE unit in their curriculum. This Certificate III course will enhance both exercise science knowledge and teaching of physical skills, which can be translated to challenges of taking interesting PE classes.
Coaching is a requirement of sports clubs and schools. Coaching courses are offered by respective National Associations of each sport. The exercise science foundation and related internship will enable coaches to transfer the knowledge, skills and experience gained into the specific requirements of sports coaching. This serves as a foundation course for sports coaches.
Sports Management jobs as Sports Development Officers have opened up nationwide as councils and national associations now offer these jobs. Their functions are to coordinate sports activities for respective island-based clubs and national sports associations. Youth interested in these jobs will find this certification a requirement.
EMPLOYMENT & CAREER
We hope to guide you through the course and internship to your next promotion or your next job. We look forward to receiving your applications. Welcome, and good luck!
