The New Normal & Gym Rates

We are open.

We are ready to welcome you. Gym closed on 17 March and reopened 16 weeks later, on 11 July. Our staff & management have gained valuable operational experience since we reopened. We are happy to inform members that the HPA have inspected and approved our gym on 4 August 2020. We have not registered a positive case from our gym, nor have we been contact traced. Member safety is our priority.

As you all know, the finish line for COVID-19 pandemic is blurred. We do not know when we can return to the old “normal”. We hope to return to a semblance of the old normal next year. This is assuming a vaccine is available. We are yet to understand how long vaccination will take to build up heard immunity.

Mini Gyms

Delivering a safe and enjoyable fitness service through the pandemic is our new challenge. Our large gym space is an advantage. We have created seven MINI GYMS by rearranging our equipment. Each mini gym gets you a minimum of 150 sq. feet as your own workout space. You get a full workout experience with 2 meters or 6 feet distance from the time you enter the gym to the time you leave the gym.

Gym Floor limited to 140

In compliance with HPA Guidelines, we have reduced gym accessibly to a third of our capacity. Gym Floor membership is limited to only 140 members. Each member get access to a MINI GYM for 90 minutes, 3 sessions per week. The member will be provided two small towels and disinfectant to wipe down equipment before and after use. Trainers disinfect each floor space after the member.

Membership Rates

We have made the COVID-19 New Normal fitness membership as reasonable as we could. Rates range from MVR 880 to MVR 1,300 per month. Please call us on 332-8722 or SMS 747-2535 and a Trainer will be happy to explain. We open early morning at 5.30 am and close at 8.30 pm at night. We are closed on Fridays.

Personal Training

Our PT rates are incredibly attractive at only MVR 2,300 per month. There are no hidden or additional gym charges. All Trainers are certified, competent, and highly motivated. Some members take PT to get a proper introduction to fitness, others like the personalized services of a coach to complement their fitness journey.

Ventilation

We have turned off air conditioning and opened all our windows.

COVID-19 transmission was initially known to happen when we touch an object or surface with virus. The virus reaches our respiratory system through the mouth, nose, or eyes when we touch our faces. We therefore wash our hands frequently.

It has also been known that COVID-19 virus can transmit through the air. Exercise increase your oxygen uptake. We therefore exhale more respiratory droplets when we exercise. Transmission through respiratory droplets and aerosol is now considered a possible avenue for virus transmission. This is the reason for masks and physical distance. Ventilation rather than air conditioning is necessary to flush out these droplets before it falls onto equipment or reaches another person.

For these reasons, ventilation is a must for gyms. Air from outside must flow freely into the gym space and out of the gym space. This way, risk of transmission directly through respiratory droplets and aerosol is reduced.

Personalized service

Everything has not been bad for gyms with this pandemic. The downside is, we have had to reduce the number of members who can use the gym to a third of what we used to have in normal times. However, on the upside, the pandemic has given us the time and opportunity to pay more attention to our members. Every member is assigned a Trainer who will also be their client rep.

We are now able to get to know each member. We can advise and assist every member to get the best results from their workouts. The main difference with Personal Training is that the member has a dedicated Trainer coaching you over the 60 minutes duration of every workout.

Reclaim frozen membership

We did not abandon our members when the pandemic hit. We froze active memberships. We unfroze memberships when we reopened. Members with frozen membership can now reclaim their membership before 15 September 2020.

Workout times

The HPA Guidelines require gym use by appointment. We offer a time slot of 90 minutes for a workout. These time slots are arranged every 90 minutes, starting 5.30 am. For example, the first slot is from 5.30 am to 7.00 am, the second slot is from 7.00 am to 8.30 am and so on. The last workout slot for the day is from 7.00 pm to 8.30 pm at night.

Front Desk

Our Front Desk is managed by Trainers rather than a receptionist. This way, access to gym information is more direct and authoritative. All our Trainers are certified, competent, and highly motivated. If you have any questions, a Trainer will be happy to explain.

Please call us on 332-8722. SMS 747-2535.
